Artist Residency Program New York (ARPNY) provides both national and international visual artists with the opportunity to temporarily obtain the space and community necessary to create, experiment, and exchange ideas. With a focus on studio-based practice, the residency is an opportunity to develop a new body of work while engaging with New York’s cultural community. Founded in 2012, ARPNY has hosted over 50 emerging to mid-career artists and curators from around the world. ARPNY consist with ARPNewYork as nonprofit program & ARPNY Workspace as self financed program. Both programs includes gallery exhibition, open studio, artist presentations & critics, screenings, artists lectures, field trips and site-specific outdoor works and generally assisting the artist in his or her professional development. The artists-in-residence offers studios that range in size from 200sq. ft. to 450sq. ft. with Wi-Fi connections and 24/7 access. ARPNY currently offers 3-12 month residencies for artists.
How to Apply
Applicants must send a completed application form together with a copy of their resume or curriculum vitae. If the application is submitted via post office, the applicant must include a CD/DVD containing 10 images (jpeg format no larger than 1000 pixels on any side at 72 dpi), if applying by e-mail applicant must send images in an attached file (pdf and jpeg), following the same format instructions as for the CD/DVD.
