The Art of the Album Design & Printing Competition is a challenge for artists to design and print a fictitious record album cover. Juried entries will be exhibited at the International Printing Museum during the 8th Annual Los Angeles Printers Fair on Saturday, October 1st, 2016.
The fictitious band must be named after a historic typeface (pre-1975), though it is not required to use that font in the design. Designers are encouraged to get creative using printing and typographic terms and themes throughout the design such as the name of the album, record compnay, concert location, etc. Juried entries will be featured in a traveling exhibition to various book arts centers, libraries, and museums around the country.
