This painter and his wife, also an artist, designed and furnished the interior of their house with their own textiles, decorations, and painted furniture; today it is one of the most visited places in Sweden.

This painter (born in Utah to Japanese parents) was arrested and sent to detention camps after the attack on Pearl Harbor, where he began to draw with pen and ink and pastels provided by the American Red Cross.
