The lighting enhances the idea of this equestrian sculpture – your photograph? If so, well seen!
Not mine. It’s from Wikipedia. Since Bernini designed the Scala Regia, I imagine he placed the statue deliberately to achieve that effect. I know he used a window to illuminate his sculpture of the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was also intentional.
