Sientje Mesdag-van Houten (December 23, 1834-March 20, 1909) was a Dutch painter and art collector. Sientje and her husband, artist Hendrik Willem Mesdag, amassed a collection of nearly 350 works.

Katherine Sophie Dreier (September 10, 1877-March 29, 1952) was an American artist, lecturer, patron of the arts, and social reformer. Dreier was also an active suffragette.
